Tanjoubi omedetou, Syao-kun!

July 15, 2012

If you ask me who is my favorite male anime character right now, I would definitely give you the same answer since I was in grade school – Li Syaoran of Cardcaptor Sakura.

Li Syaoran hails from Hong Kong. The successor of the powerful Li clan, his family consists of his mother, his four sisters and Wei (I count him here because he basically raised Syaoran through the years). He went to Japan to get the Clow cards but falls in love with the enemy 😛

He looks tough on the outside. Yes, he might have been a bit harsh to Sakura at first. But this guy has values, dreams and a loving soul.

If you think he’s adorable when he blushes (or when he gets jealous)..

What more if he smiles? 🙂

Here’s my most favorite costume for both Syaoran and Sakura:

It may sound like he’s “perfect”, but he has flaws too – which he acknowledges and is also accepted by Sakura ♥

Unacceptable as it is on my part, I honestly forgot about his birthday last Friday (July 13) and only remembered it sometime in the morning yesterday. So how old is Syaoran really?

  • Manga (runs from May 1996 – June 2000, starts at 10 years old) = 26 years old
  • Anime (runs from April 7, 1998 – March 21, 2000, starts at 10 years old) = 24 years old

It’s been a decade or so. I feed my Cardcaptor Sakura love with Fanfiction. Somehow in my imagination, with the help of those stories, I can envision an older Sakura and Syaoran and the rest of the gang and how they would be living their lives 🙂

Again, belate happy birthday Syao-kun! ♥

Anyway, you might be wondering why I only mentioned about Syaoran of CCS. I have seen only a couple of episodes of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles but I have never watched or read the whole thing yet. There’s also a matter of clone Syaoran.
