My friends and I were supposed to be in a client meeting yesterday, but since there was some kind of misunderstanding, we ended up agreeing to spend time together. One of them wanted to watch The Amazing Spiderman, the other wanted Prometheus. Since the next Spiderman movie isn’t showing yet, we ended up with Prometheus.
This is one of those times that I didn’t look up information about the movie beforehand. I was expecting the movie to be related to Greek Mythology.
Titan God Prometheus
Etymology: Prometheus derived from the Greek pro (before) + manthano (learn) and the agent suffix –eus, thus meaning “Forethinker”.
He is the Titan God of forethought and crafty counsel who was entrusted with the task of moulding mankind out of clay. His attempts to better the lives of his creation brought him into direct conflict with Zeus. It is because of him that Zeus ordered the creation of Pandora.
The Movie: Prometheus
Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.. 😉
An exploration of faith and mankind’s origins on a distant moon LV-223, the movie has great acting and great look, but the plot is confusing. It is said to be the prequel of the movie ‘Alien’ (from the same director), but it doesn’t seem like it – just that they exist in the same universe.
Exploring the unknown..The astonishing surgery scene featuring the female lead was the highlight for us. She is unable to get pregnant and to know that she’s pregnant for THREE months with SOMETHING (she only had contact with her infected boyfriend 10 hours ago..) – she undergoes an impromptu Caesarian section. Somehow it’s upsetting that there’s some kind of discrimination with the med-pod, which was for male patients only, even if we say it’s just for ill Waynard’s use.
Dr. Elizabeth Shaw after her self, impromptu Caesarian surgery in the med-pod. Wow, she can still run x.xThe technology, of course, gave a big WOW factor.
Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in Cryo-sleep, the chamber’s glass acts as a touch screen monitor. Yes, Prometheus is the name of this ship. There also the robot named David played by Michael Fassbender.
He can speak a variety of ancient languages. Cool~Verdict: Interestingly weird xD
