Hello Moto: Motorola Launched Three Devices in PH

Around ten years ago, I was playing around my mom’s RAZR V3. I loved its keypad and bigger screen, how thin it was, and how sosyal it felt whenever I had to flip it open. I haven’t heard much about Motorola since then.

That was until this week, when I saw photos on my Facebook feed from blogger friends holding a smartphone with the brand’s logo on it. Motorola is making a comeback in the Philippines with three of its Moto devices.

No Nexus 6, Moto 360

Current flagship phone second-generation / 2014 Moto X runs Android 5.0 Lollipop on a Snapdragon 801 chipset, Krait 400 quad-core 2.5GHz processor and 2GB RAM.

Its 5.2-inch FULL HD (1080p) AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 423 ppi, comes with Gorilla Glass 3.

Moto X is capable of shooting 13-megapixel photos and videos with resolutions up to 4K. Its rear facing camera has auto-focus and dual LED flash. Take your selfies or do video chats with its 2-megapixel front facing camera.

The phone has 16GB of internal storage and, unfortunately, does not support microSD expansion. A 2,300 mAh non-removable battery powers up the device.

Other features include 4G/LTE, 3G/HSPA+, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS and NFC support.

Customize your Moto X by choosing from a white or black fascias and backplate from a wide range of options like you see below.

The second generation Moto G (also known as Moto G 2014 or Moto G2) features 5-inch IPS HD display (720 x 1280 Pixels, 294 ppi) protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

This mid-range phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and is powered by Snapdragon 400 chipset and Cortex-A7 quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 2,070 mAh non-removable battery.

It is equipped with 8-megapixel auto-focus main camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Only the 2014 Moto G 8GB variant will be available in the country but don’t fret as you can expand your storage with microSD cards up to 32GB.

The device supports dual microSIM dual standby, USB OTG,3G/HSPA+, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS.

Moto G 2014 comes in two colors: white and black.

Motorola is also bringing in an entry-level phone in the form of Moto E. It is also a second generation device and the only one released this year.

The device is made up of 4.5-inch qHD IPS LCD display (960 x 540 pixels) with Gorilla Glass 3, 64-bit 2.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM and 2,390 mAh battery.

It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, supports dual DIM dual standby mode, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS.

Internal storage is only 8GB but expandable up to 32GB with a microSD.

Camera-wise, it has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear shooter and VGA front facing one.

The LTE+3G model will be made available for purchase in the Philippines.

Moto E is available in white or black. To add more color, swap the accent band around your device with red, blue, golden yellow, turquoise, purple or raspberry.

Motorola, who used to be part of Google and is now a Lenovo company, is the first to receive major updates from Android.

Moto X is available for purchase at P16,990, Moto G at P8,499 and Moto E at P6,999.

All phones will be available at partner stores in the coming weeks.
