Adding money from your Security Bank to GCash is easy and free of charge!
The coronavirus pandemic made us more reliant on digital banking and cashless transactions.
I both have Security Bank and GCash accounts since 2018. Clients can pay me through any of the two for my freelance projects. Our family also ventured into selling during the quarantine and we use my accounts for receiving payments for food orders at Diday & Dely as well as study table orders. It gives my parents fewer reasons to go out and expose themselves just to pay bills or send money.
Recently, netizens were abuzz with the news of 2.58% convenience fee of the total amount for Visa/Mastercard bank card cash in starting July 6. I received the advisory on June 27 via SMS. I reached out to Security Bank’s Facebook page early this week and was told that cash-ins will incur charges as mentioned by GCash…
…until I saw their mobile banking app update.
The new app added an Interbank Fund Transfer feature which lets users send money to over 30 banks and e-wallets such as GCash! Transactions are free or incur a minimal charge up to P50 and are processed in real-time c/o Instapay. This feature is on top of the existing account management, bills payment, fund transfers to SBC bank accounts, send cash via SMS (eGiveCash), and prepaid reload.
How to cash in your GCash via Security Bank mobile app for FREE

STEP 6: Click SUBMIT to proceed.

Online banking is so convenient. Gcash has made our live easier by no longer going to the bank to do our transactions.
It goes both ways for me as a Security Bank account holder and GCash user. But yes, I rarely go to the bank na except when I need to deposit cheque payments.
Wow! Didnt know about this ah. Should probably try this! Thanks sa info girl
You’re welcome, Jayne π
I donβt have Gcash but this is surely helpful guide to everyone using it! π Glad that they have feature like this!
Super convenient na talaga ng pag transfer ng money now. Mabilis din ako nakakapag transfer ng money from bank to GCash.
Glad more banks are following suit. Loyal to BPI and a new convert to Unionbank. May consider Security Bank if they do more stuff like this!
Hope you give Security Bank a try! I dislike banks for a reason but this is the only brand that I’m proud to share with everyone π
Thanks for the info Dems, Very informative. God blessπ
You’re welcome, Lennie π
Easy peasy! Problema ko lang is hindi ko pa naeenroll sa mobile banking ung SB account q haaays. Can you share the process on how to enroll in mobile banking?
Hi Carol! You just need to download the Security Bank mobile app (see links on the post), login using your online banking username and password, and you’re good to go π no need to request na for additional enrollment unlike with other banks π
Sayang I’m not an SB account user. Pero I have friends na SB user. Will tell them about this. Sana sa susunod, lahat ng banks na, free cash in. Laking tipid din nun eh hehe
Sana nga hindi na nila lagyan ng convenience fee hehe! If their bank uses InstaPay din, it’s free to cash in to GCash π
Oh wow thanks for this! I’m just starting out with freelancing (because pandemic huhu) but I never knew about this. GCASH is truly the easiest way to receive payment as well as pay others online. I also just started my GCASH account. I’m kind of considering security bank too right now π
You can also transfer your Paypal funds to GCash if ever. I love Security Bank ^_^
I havenβt had cash in quite some time now, but I havenβt stopped spending at all. Itβs a necessity to go cashless these days and Gcahs and online bank allow us to continue transactions in such an easy manner. Hope theyβd get rid of the fees involved tho.
Good to know that Security Bank has already this feature in their mobile banking scheme. I, too, uses mobile banking on other bank it also has this feature which makes it pretty convenient transferring money without having physically present to transaction outlets. Kudos!
I really like how banks take seriously the digital transformation, especially we are in this pandemic. Philippines has a lot of catching up in terms of tech advances. Thanks to Security Bank, replenishing GCash accounts is now easier and more convenient.
This is so important especially since we are practicing the new normal. We have to make use of the technology that we have right now. Thank you for such a great tip!
I have a few friends you have Security Bank as their bank and they’ve semi-explained how it works. I’m glad Gcash continues to innovate and make lives convenient. I hope may ganito din sa PNB & BDO.
You can also transfer funds from PNB or BDO π
Laking tulong ng G-cash sa akin ngayon… paying bills, load replenishment, online purchases… Yung sa akin naman naka-linked na yung bank ko sa G-cash account.
Is GCASH still charge subscribers a fee when there is no transaction in your GCASH account for a month? Coz it happened to me before , reason why I unsubscribed my GCASH account.
Hi Blair! I haven’t encountered that before. Did you try to sign up with a new account and check if the same thing happens?
it’s such a good thing that banks are partnering with Gcash to make transactions easier. especially now that a lot of people prefers to go cashless.
I swear, online banking is the way to go nowadays! Mukang madali lang naman pala mag cash in sa gcash via security bank, and it looks good na may way to circumvent the 2% ish na extra charge. π
Same with other banks that use the Instapay service π
