PSC and DOST-PCIEERD launched Exhibits on Environment

I was invited by the bubbly Ms. Karen of Philippine Science Centrum, whom I met at the press launch of 2012 Science Film Festival in the Philippines, to the launching of a new gallery featuring 8 interactive and informative Exhibits on Environment.

Ribbon cutting headed by key personalities from Philippine Science Centrum & DOST-PCIEERD.

Sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), the exhibit aims to provide practical solutions to challenges we face everyday. Learn more about trash timeline, recycling, e-waste, biogas, standby (phantom) power (not in picture), surface runoff (not in picture), lightbulbs and dual flush toilets.

Not all trash decompose in a relatively short time.
Reuse. Reduce. Recycle!
Have you ever gave disposal of electronic gadget wastes a second thought?
Biodegradable waste -> methane gas -> fuel for kitchen stove!
Incandescent, halogen, CFL, or LED?
My favorite amongst the exhibits!

To date, the centrum has five traveling exhibits in the country to expose young minds to science. Also, DOST recently launched the Philippine Standard Time or “Juan Time” – an initiative to promote lifestyle change. Sync your clocks and say no to Filipino time!

Visit the country’s first today and experience all 150+ exhibits! Open Mondays to Saturdays, 8am – 5pm at E-Com Bldg. Riverbanks Center, Marikina City.
