Happy Earth Day!

Every year, on April 22, the whole world celebrates Earth Day to promote the vision for environmental protection. On its 44th anniversary, the campaign is focused on “Green Cities” – more sustainability, less carbon footprint.

Focused on three key elements – buildings, energy, and transportation – the campaign aims to help cities accelerate their transition to a cleaner, healthier, and more economically viable future through improvements in efficiency, investments in renewable technology, and regulation reform.

Pro Earth Run

Serving as a prelude in celebrating Earth Day in the Philippines, PRO EARTH RUN gathered more than 5000 running enthusiasts last April 13 as support in protecting, respecting and overseeing the responsible and sustainable care of Mother Earth. Runners inched and raced one another to the finish line of the 10‐km, 5‐ km, and 3‐km categories. There was also a 1.5‐km run for children dubbed “Run with Doraemon.”

Pro Earth Run is organized by Earth Day Network Philippines (a non‐profit, non‐stock corporation that leads more than two thousand entities from different sectors of the Philippines that work towards environmental protection and conservation) and presented by LifeOil, 100% pure Malunggay extract, and United Parcel Services (UPS).

Staged by Huper International, the event was also sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweeptakes Office, First Gen, Energy Development Corporation, Globe, Holcim, Animation International – Philippines, Informatics, Merrell, Lumsense, The Body Shop Peppermint Leg Spray, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Timex, Gardenia, Greenlite Banner, Gold’s Gym, Integrated Waste Management, Inc., Empire East, Union Bank, and Haribon Foundation.

Back to back with Pro Earth Run was another advocacy run called “Run for a CHILD”, which I was also an advocate of 🙂
