Technically I’m an out-of-school youth, less than a dozen courses away from my degree. Good thing with today’s technology wherever you are , whatever you do, as long as you have access to the internet, learning opportunities are endless. And that’s what I thank Team Treehouse for.
Treehouse International Scholarship
I stumbled upon this post on my Facebook dashboard about Treehouse and gave it a try. A few days after that I received an email granting me two-year Gold account scholarship on their site, which was such a blessing! Since Treehouse is a paid service ($9/month for students, $25/month non-student silver, $49/month non-student gold — click here for subscription plans), the scholarship saved me as much as $1,176 — enough to pay my student loan and get me back to college.
Treehouse In a Nutshell
Treehouse covers a wide range of topics to train an individual not only on their technical skills (HTML, CSS, PHP, iOS, Android, WordPress, JavaScript, RoR to name a few) as well as exposure to the business side of things. Since I can access the lectures anytime, I can work during the day and study at night or vice versa — perfect for people who only have little time to spare. Instruction-wise, there are times I kind of feel sleepy, but then the material is easy to pick up and understand.
So far I have finished the Social Media and Search Engine Optimization tracks since that’s where my work currently revolves around. You can see my badges on the lower right side of this site 🙂
Treehouse Books
