It’s starting to feel more like the rainy season these past few days.
I love letting the cool breeze in (and save electricity in the process!) but have to be wary because it’s also dengue season. I’m prone to mosquito bites so I take extra precautions to keep the bugs away.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that is endemic, or widespread, to tropical countries like the Philippines. The dengue virus is transmitted through the bites by Aedes aegypti, which can also carry chikungunya, yellow fever and Zika viruses. When infected, a person presents severe flu-like symptoms, of which are managed until the patient recovers.
There is a sharp decline in the number of dengue cases in 2020 but an outbreak is still possible.
One way is to apply personal protection with an insect repellant, which I always bring with me anywhere I go. Most of us are familiar with citronella because of its distinct smell may or may not be pleasant to everyone.
My growing consciousness over my skin health and not wanting to spend on or bring along multiple products during travels led me to a search on Shopee for new products to consider. I stumbled upon Hello Glow after seeing their 4-in-1 lotion.
Hello Glow Citronella Lotion is formulated with Citronella, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, peppermint, Vitamin C, and Citric acid that can moisturize the skin, reverse visible signs of aging, and provide a cooling yet gentle effect.
What I love about it:
- water-based consistency that makes it easy to absorb
- doesn’t leave me feeling icky
- it’s cooling effect is a welcome relief especially during warm days
- scent isn’t as strong when applied on the skin
This is perfect for those who want to achieve soft, glowing skin while helping fight those annoying mosquitoes! Hello Glow Citronella Lotion comes in 250ml packaging and retails at P250.
Since we’re talking about skin problems, I also want to address maskne. I haven’t had any breakouts for years despite having an oily T-zone. Yet being compliant with wearing facemasks to protect ourselves from the virus has its downsides.
It’s good that Hello Glow also offers a variety of products such as the Acne Defense Set. I’m yet to try it but it sounds promising since it has salicylic and tea tree acid in it. These two go deep into your skin to calm your inflamed pimples. It also has green tea, rosemary leaf, and licorice root extract to help with the acne, promote even skintone, and mitigate signs of aging.
Hello Glow Acne Defense Set comes with cleansing gel, acne spot drying cream, and a bottle of pore repairing toner for only P360.
Might I add that the other reasons why I tried Hello Glow was, aside from its affordable price range, the products are made in Korea and are paraben- and cruelty-free 🙂
Alright, dear readers! Just because we’re in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t mean other illnesses or self-care have to take a back seat. Keep your self protected and healthy 💙
