Sony Unveils Creative Entertainment Vision at CES® 2025

CES® 2025 in Las Vegas witnessed a wave of innovation from Sony Group Corporation, as they unveiled a series of key announcements that pushed the boundaries of entertainment mediums and content intellectual property (IP).

At a press conference last January 6, Sony President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki, along with key figures, outlined game-changing technologies and initiatives under the theme Creative Entertainment Vision.

This ten-year roadmap unfolds across three distinct phases: “Creativity Unleashed,” “Boundaries Transcended,” and “Narratives Everywhere.” Consumers can look forward to new solutions that enable creative freedom, spatial content creation solutions, and a concerted effort to broaden the reach of the anime fan community.

Key announcements also included the production of an anime series based on the game “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends,” the launch of the new manga app “Crunchyroll Manga,” and the official release month for the second season of the highly anticipated drama series “The Last of Us.”

These projects will turn game IP into visual works, feature co-creation with music artists, and pave the way for new location-based entertainment experiences as measures to expand the world of game IP from multiple perspectives.

Special guest speaker Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the US National Football League, joined Sony to discuss the latest advancements in sports entertainment, where they shared a prototype of their new 5G-powered coach headsets which will feature Sony’s renowned noise cancellation and audio quality.

In another exciting development, Sony Honda Mobility finally unveiled its electric vehicle, the ‘AFEELA 1,’ which will be available for pre-orders starting in 2025, showcasing the company’s commitment to mobility innovation.

Totoki closed the press conference by emphasizing that Sony’s “Creative Entertainment Vision” involves creators, partners and Sony colleagues working together, to create infinite realities for everyone that will spark imaginations and generate a boundless sense of Kando.
