Recently spent the afternoon to know more about Lenovo’s newest mid-range phone – the A7000 Plus.
It was my first time to attend an exclusive unboxing event, which was hosted by Lazada Philippines. Mentioned as the ASEAN version of K3 Note, A7000 Plus was launched last month in the Philippines as a follow up on the brand’s highly successful A7000.
Let’s do a quick hands-on. On top are the microUSB port and headset jack; power/lock and volume buttons on the right side; and the microphone pinhole at the bottom. The three navigation buttons are unlit so you need to memorize it a little.
Carefully remove the back cover and you’ll see two (2) microSIM card slots and the microSD card slot (up to 32GB). Only SIM1 slot is LTE-enabled.
Equipped with 2900mAh Li-on battery, the phone doesn’t have fast charging capabilities but has enhanced power-saving features plus the 1.5A AC adapter output still makes a difference over standard ones (1.0A).
Place the battery in, boot up and see the A7000 Plus flaunt a 5.5″ full HD display (1920 x 1080 resolution) with better viewing angles. I love how vibrant the colors are.
The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop powered by MTK MT6752 1.7GHz Octa-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be extended up to 32GB via microSD card and OTG support so you can store as many photos, videos and files Pre-installed apps include SHAREit, SYNCit, Evernote, UC Browser, etc.
Like its predecessor it offers a 360-degree sound experience thanks to the latest Dolby Atmos technology. It would be nice to play with this using a genuine Lenovo headset but the unit doesn’t come with one 🙁
Take photos with A700 Plus’ 13MP Sony IMX219PQ auto-focus rear camera with dual LED flash. A 5MP front-facing camera sits beside the notification light and earpiece. I took sample shots with its rear camera on Auto mode but I wasn’t able to back it up before I had my phone replaced :/
For extra-added value, when you buy a Lenovo A7000 Plus, it is already bundled with a screen protector and clear casing (which, if bought separately, costs P299 and P599 respectively).
