I needed to search on some stuff so I typed in google.com.ph in my browser. Today Google has honored Alan Turing, one of the known men in the filed of computing, an interactive Google Doodle.
A functioning, interactive version of the Turing Machine involves six tasks, spelling out the word Google in binary and making each letter color up one by one after each successful try.Tag: tech news
Training: Etsy & Hacker School Join Forces to Bring in More Female Programmers
By Dems Angeles on April 12, 2012Ever since I stepped into college, I noticed there were only a few female students studying Computer Science, Information Technology, and all Engineering courses in my university. In my class, a third of it is composed of girls. There are some blocks that have less than 5.
Given that computer-related courses is in the top three choices of most students who enter college, the numbers are small, as is the number of female instructors.
I’m pretty sure everyone has heard about Etsy, the famous online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods, is sponsoring ten grants worth $5,000 each for ten lucky females who need financial support to participate in the summerlong program of Hacker School.
Wait, HACKER school?
To take away the boredom, given I have things to do on my list, I read news articles on the web. That or I read a book or an actual newspaper. It’s nice to be updated and entertained by the latest news, gadgets or discoveries.
