It’s our prelim exams next week & our first software demo the week after! Time flies by fast! I’m taking a quick break (I miss writing!) to share this week’s Throwback Thursday thing.
I needed to search on some stuff so I typed in google.com.ph in my browser. Today Google has honored Alan Turing, one of the known men in the filed of computing, an interactive Google Doodle.

By Dems Angeles on April 12, 2012Ever since I stepped into college, I noticed there were only a few female students studying Computer Science, Information Technology, and all Engineering courses in my university. In my class, a third of it is composed of girls. There are some blocks that have less than 5.
Given that computer-related courses is in the top three choices of most students who enter college, the numbers are small, as is the number of female instructors.
I’m pretty sure everyone has heard about Etsy, the famous online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods, is sponsoring ten grants worth $5,000 each for ten lucky females who need financial support to participate in the summerlong program of Hacker School.

Yesterday I attended the Accenture Manila Technology Talk held at Dusit Thani Hotel, Ayala Center, Makati City. The event was about “The Evolution of JavaServer Faces“.
As far as I know I haven’t used JSF but I did work on JSPs and Servlets before, as well as your usual basic Java in school.
