Feeling the work-at-home blues? Have you considered trying out coworking spaces?
I have my work table in the bedroom. Not the best idea in the world, I know, but there’s no other place to set up a dedicated cubicle. Distractions abound – noise, warm environment, house chores and the urge to stay in bed all day.
Same goes when you are working from your neighborhood coffee shop (#coffice). People can be loud, outlets are scarce and worst, there’s no free WiFi.
We constantly need to strike the balance between freedom and discipline, in which coworking spaces can help you with. You get to work in a flexible, shared workspace and be part of a community of freelancers, consultants, and small and medium enterprises from various industries and backgrounds. Mingle, network, get advice. Awesome, right?
Today I’d love to share with you my recommended coworking spaces within the metro that you can try for free!
A Clean and Well-Lighted Place for Work
Only a few coworking spaces exist in Ortigas and this gets my badge of approval for staying true to its name. Also, because it’s free from distractions. Just pick a spot, connect to their reliable WiFi connection, and get a cup of premium brewed coffee or two. A day pass costs P600 for members and P800 for non-members.
It’s great to have our friends from Horsepower.ph here yesterday. Thanks for spending the day with us!

Secure a FREE day pass here, limited to one person per sign up.
A Clean and Well-Lighted Place for Work is located at 27F Jollibee Plaza, Emerald Ave. Ortigas Center, Pasig City (across GCF and AIC Gold Tower). Let the reception at the lobby know you are going to DotPH office. They are open from 9AM to 9PM. Follow them on Facebook.
Acceler8 Coworking Manila
The industrial interiors, soothing music and decent WiFi was what stood out for me when I first visited Acceler8 Coworking Manila. Daily coworking passes gives you unrestricted access to coworking, bar and pantry area (with coffee, tea, filtered water and fruit-infused drinking water). They offer a FREE coworking pass (worth P550) on their website.

Impact Hub Manila
Fostering a social innovation community, Impact Hub Manila is more than just a coworking space with cool murals and chic furniture hosted in a contemporary culture and arts center. It’s all about collaboration – providing an international network of entrepreneurs, hosting community startup events and running incubation programs.
For a limited time only, they have a sweet deal for DANGmusings’ readers! Claim your FREE day pass anytime between 9AM to 7PM from today until the 22nd of January, 2016 by showing this blog post at the reception area!
Impact Hub Manila is located at 5F Green Sun, 2285 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati City. Make your way to MRT Magallanes and you can either ride a jeepney or walk 500m from Alphaland Southgate Mall, passing by GlaxoSmithKline, Volvo, Nissan and Chevrolet.
Follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Other notable coworking spaces on my list are A Space Manila in Makati City/BGC and 47East in Quezon City. Sadly, they do not give away free coworking day passes as of this writing. Great news though for horsepower.ph members – they enjoy perks like free day pass per month with selected partners as well as discounted rates for facilities rental.
Next up, we’ll help you decide if coworking is right for you.

Impact Hub Manila’s interiors look great! I just might check them out next week. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this list!
You’re welcome! Don’t forget to show them this blog post to avail of the free day pass. Also, follow me on social media? ?
Dems, do you know any co-working space in QC?
Ate Mas, I’m only familiar with 47East in Katipunan and Racket Room Collective in Sgt. Esguerra but I haven’t been to both locations.
Thanks for the mention, Dems – we tend not to do sales promos or offer free passes at A SPACE as a “thing”… but we’ve never turned anyone away who wants to pop by and check out the space for a trial – that’s just us being community minded and neighborly 🙂
Hello Matthew! I have been to A SPACE a number of times but mostly attending hackathons. Thanks for that. Hope to visit again soon 🙂
