The Manila Hotel spotlights the festive and colorful Filipino Christmas celebration.
A visually stunning display now greets guests at The Manila Hotel’s Grand Lobby. The ornate Christmas tree is clad with opulent golden Ilang-Ilang blooms, a nod to the official flower of the Grand Dame. It also features parol and Christmas balls made in rattan, vibrant red ribbons and boxes of presents wrapped in indigenous Filipino fabric.
The tree was first revealed during the hotel’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, held last November 9. The event was graced by the presence of The Manila Hotel Chairman Basilio Yap, Vice Chairman Dr. Emilio Yap III, President Atty. Joey Lina, and Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta; along with esteemed guests including the City of Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna Pangan, City of Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto, Department of Tourism NCR Regional Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, US Ambassador H.E. MaryKay Carlson, Nigeria Ambassador H.E. Folakemi Akinleye, and Miss Philippines Air 2023 Kerri Reilly.
Traditional Christmas carols from The Office of the President Chorale and a dance performance from the children of the House of Refuge Foundation added to the festive spirit of the occasion.
The foundation, which serves as a halfway house that provides a home atmosphere and basic necessities to children in need, was awarded P200,000 as part of The Manila Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Marvin Kim Tan, The Manila Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “As we aspire to be a part of every family’s Christmas celebration, may our lit Christmas tree serve as a reflection of the hotel’s commitment to embodying the spirit of Filipino traditions this holiday season.”
