Access to comprehensive travel statistics is no longer confined to quarterly agency briefings. The Department of Tourism (DOT) has officially introduced the Philippine Tourism Data Dashboard, an open-access platform that gives the public direct visibility into the country’s key tourism indicators.
Hosted directly on the department’s website, the interactive portal allows industry stakeholders, researchers, local government units, and curious travelers to examine arrivals, outbound patterns, and the broader economic footprint of Philippine tourism.
Tracking Movements and Source Markets
The core feature of the dashboard enables users to trace inbound tourist arrivals dating back to 2010, alongside outbound travel figures from 2023 to 2025. Rather than viewing flat statistics, visitors can review monthly fluctuations, spot peak seasonal trends, and compare year-on-year trajectories to evaluate growth patterns.
For international inbound travel, the tool maps out the leading source markets. A visual breakdown details arrivals from the top 20 countries of origin alongside consolidated figures for other territories, providing a clear picture of who is visiting the Philippines and when.
Economic Footprint and Industry Employment
Going beyond simple foot traffic, the dashboard integrates official figures from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to reflect how tourism moves the wider economy:
- Tourism Direct Gross Value Added (TDGVA): Tracks the direct monetary value generated by tourism, featuring a breakdown across key pillars such as accommodation, transportation, and food and beverage services.
- Tourism Employment: Contextualizes the sector’s impact on local livelihoods by comparing tourism-specific jobs against total national employment figures.
- Downloadable Datasets: For analysts and media professionals requiring deeper inspection, the site includes an extensive data dictionary and permits direct downloads of the raw datasets behind every graph.
Current 2026 Inbound Highlights
According to data recorded on the portal as of 31 August 2026, the Philippines has welcomed 4,415,860 international visitor arrivals for the year—a 0.78% increase compared to the 4,381,585 arrivals logged during the same time frame in 2025.
The United States currently leads all source markets with 926,575 arrivals (20.98% of total visits), followed closely by South Korea at 744,732 arrivals (16.86%). These counts merge eTravel digital entries from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) with records from the Bureau of Immigration for enhanced reporting accuracy.
Championing Industry Transparency
Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay highlighted that open data serves as an essential driver for collaborative sector development:
“Making this information available to the public is not just about transparency for its own sake. It is about giving our stakeholders, from local government units to tourism businesses to ordinary Filipinos, the tools to understand how our industry is doing and where the opportunities are. When people can see the data for themselves, they become part of the effort to grow tourism, not just observers of it.”
Rolled out as part of Philippine Tourist Promotion Month this September, the platform supports the ongoing Discover More To Love campaign, with the agency working to permanently institutionalise public data access across its digital channels.
