Make the Streets Your Runway: Why Hong Kong’s First-Ever Halloween Month Is the Spooky Season Trip You Need

October 15, 2026

If you’re a Filipino traveler hunting for the ultimate excuse to book a quick autumn flight, consider this your official sign!

Following our recent guide on fall happenings across the city, Hong Kong is turning the energy up another notch. For the first time ever, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is rolling out Hong Kong Halloween Month, bringing the celebrations straight from the theme parks and right into the city’s most iconic neighborhoods every Saturday from October 17 to 31!

Carrying the theme “Make the Streets Your Runway,” the city-wide festival invites travelers and locals alike to bring their most creative cosplay and spooky fits straight into the urban spotlight.

From harbourside beats and giant art installations to free rides in full costume, here is your curated guide to experiencing Hong Kong Halloween Month 2026.

1. Join the City’s Biggest Halloween Cosplay Street Parties

Whether you love high-energy block parties, creative photo ops, or family outings, Hong Kong’s major districts are transforming into open-air festival hubs:

  • Central (Art Installations & Family Carnival): Pinoy art and pop culture enthusiasts can check out giant Halloween installations including massive eyeballs, a mysterious gateway, and a haunted jail. Bringing the little ones? Central also hosts an outdoor music party and a family carnival perfect for an evening out.
  • Lan Kwai Fong (Only in LKF! Halloween Cosplay Party @ LKF Monster Mash): LKF is pulling out all the stops with monster flash mobs, roaming cosplayers, and DJ stages. Don’t miss the three themed street parties: Monster DJ Night, Wizard Block Party, and Monsters Night.
  • Langham Place, Mong Kok (Next Stop, Mong Kok!): For that quintessential big-city photo moment, head over to Langham Place to see the iconic red Hong Kong minibus transformed into a spooky “Mong Kok Haunted MiniBus” installation. Fuel your night with limited-edition themed desserts and street bites!
  • Tsim Sha Tsui East (TST East Halloween Beats Party): Pack your dancing shoes—local and international DJs will be spinning sets against the panoramic backdrop of Victoria Harbour.
  • Kai Tak Sports Park (Pet-Friendly Halloween Party): Traveling with furry companions or love pet-friendly spaces? Head over for neon light displays, live busking, and cute pet photo spots.

2. Free Rides: Dress up and hop on for free!

Here’s a perk every Pinoy commuter and traveler will love: dressing up in your best Halloween costume can score you free rides across town! On October 17, 24, and 31, visitors in costume can hop on:

  • Citybus Open-Top Sightseeing Bus: Transformed with a special Halloween theme, this bus conveniently links all five street party zones so you can hop from one celebration to another without missing a beat.
  • Hong Kong Tramways (Ding Ding Tram): Ride the iconic Ding Ding for free between Causeway Bay and Sheung Wan (Western Market).

3. Double the Thrills at Hong Kong’s Premier Theme Parks

Halloween in Hong Kong wouldn’t be complete without checking out the dedicated seasonal lineups at the city’s beloved theme parks:

  • Hong Kong Disneyland Resort – Disney Halloween Time: Get ready to party with your favorite villains! The seasonal takeover introduces the all-new musical celebration “Mickey’s Happy Halloween Adventure,” the grander “Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party,” the crowd-favorite award-winning musical “Let’s Get Wicked,” alongside trick-or-treat stations and villainous treats.
  • Ocean Park Hong Kong – Halloween Fest: Ready to test your courage? Ocean Park features four scare experiences, highlighted by an immersive collaboration with “Under the Castle”—an original IP conceptualized by international artist Jackson Wang. Expect multisensory horror houses, limited-edition merchandise, and festive themed bites.
